For families

Clear answers help families choose with confidence.

The questions below cover the practical details parents ask most often. Final policies and enrollment terms are provided privately so families can review them carefully before care begins.

01

Inquiry first

We begin with the child’s age, requested schedule, preferred start date, and the family’s main care needs.

02

Tour & conversation

A private tour gives the family and provider time to discuss routines, expectations, the environment, and whether the placement appears to be a good fit.

03

Private information package

Qualified families receive the complete parent handbook, written tuition information, closure schedule, and enrollment steps privately after the inquiry and tour.

04

Enrollment

A space is not guaranteed by an inquiry, tour, verbal conversation, subsidy request, or payment alone. Enrollment is confirmed only after required documents, fees, program authorizations, and signed agreements are accepted.

05

Health & safety information

Confidential medical, emergency, custody, allergy, and authorized-pickup records are collected through the enrollment process—not through the public website.

06

Licensing status

Wonder Bees Daycare is currently being prepared. Licensing and opening details will be communicated accurately before any licensed-care enrollment begins.

Frequently asked questions

What families want to know

Choose a question to read the answer. If your family’s situation is different, include the details in your tour request.

Do you provide meals and snacks?

Yes. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided each day for children eating program meals. Menus, allergies, dietary restrictions, food textures, and infant feeding arrangements are reviewed with each family before enrollment.

Do you provide transportation?

No. Wonder Bees Daycare does not transport children. Parents or authorized adults are responsible for drop-off and pickup.

Do you accept subsidized child care programs?

Wonder Bees welcomes families using eligible YMCA Childcare Resource Service subsidies, military child care fee assistance, and other authorized payment programs. Care can begin only after the family is authorized and all required provider enrollment, licensing, approval, and payment documents are complete.

Which neighborhoods do you serve?

Wonder Bees is located in Bankers Hill and is convenient for families traveling from Downtown San Diego, Hillcrest, North Park, City Heights, Point Loma, and Mission Valley. Families from other communities are also welcome to inquire. The exact address is shared only after a tour is confirmed.

What ages do you care for?

The program is planned to support infants, toddlers, and young children approximately 2 months through 5 years old. Acceptance depends on the child’s needs, current openings, the ages already enrolled, and applicable licensing conditions.

How do you help a child adjust to daycare?

Before care begins, families share routines, comfort strategies, communication cues, interests, feeding needs, and sleep patterns. During the transition, we use familiar routines, patient reassurance, close observation, and family communication to help the child build trust at an appropriate pace.

How are infant feeding and naps handled?

Infant care follows each child’s developmental needs and written family instructions as closely as the group-care setting safely allows. Feeding, bottles, breast milk or formula, sleep routines, and comfort strategies are discussed privately before enrollment.

How do you support children’s learning?

Wonder Bees uses responsive caregiving and purposeful play rather than academic pressure. Stories, conversation, art, music, movement, sensory experiences, practical routines, and child-led exploration support communication, thinking, physical development, confidence, and relationships.

How do you keep children safe?

Safety practices include active supervision, a thoughtfully prepared environment, careful sanitation, authorized-pickup procedures, emergency planning, age-appropriate materials, and written health information. Final licensing and opening information will be shared accurately before licensed care begins.

What happens when a child is sick?

Families must keep children home when symptoms meet the program’s exclusion policy or when the child cannot comfortably participate in care. The detailed illness, return-to-care, medication, and emergency-contact rules are provided in the private parent handbook.

How will I know about my child’s day?

Families receive meaningful updates about meals, rest, diapering or toileting when applicable, activities, mood, and important accomplishments or concerns. Urgent health or safety matters are communicated promptly.

What are your hours and tuition rates?

Hours, tuition, fees, and available schedules are confirmed directly because placement depends on the child’s age, full-time or part-time needs, requested hours, and current availability.

Can I schedule a tour before enrolling?

Yes. Families may request a private tour to see the daycare space, discuss their child’s needs, and ask questions. A tour does not reserve a space or guarantee enrollment.

Is the complete parent handbook online?

No. The website explains the general program and philosophy. The complete handbook, rates, health policies, closure schedule, and enrollment terms are shared privately with qualified families after an inquiry and tour.

Are the website photos of the actual daycare?

The homepage image is a digitally prepared representation of the actual Wonder Bees Daycare space and furnishings. Other professional images are illustrative and help communicate the planned program experience.
